INFORMATION FOR COMPETEING TEAMS:

  • FIRST NAMED TEAM IS HOME TEAM IN FIRST GAME OF ALL SERIES.
  • ALL TEAMS MUST COMPLY WITH DATES SET FOR O.R.S.A PLAYOFFS OR BE SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION.(SEE O.R.S.A. CONSTITUTION PG.28 RULE 1V (a).
  • IN ALL SERIES THE O.R.S.A. SHALL RECEIVE 20% OF THE GROSS GATE AND THE MINIMUM CAN’T BE LESS THAN $10.00 IN MINOR,JUNIOR AND INTERMEDIATE TEAMS.
  • ANY TEAM IN DEFAULT OF SENDING IN REPORTS OR MONIES WILL BE ASSESSSED AT LEAST THE MINIMUMM AN DIT WILL BE COLLECTED BEFORE THEY CAM PARTICIPATE IN FURTHUR LEAGUE OR PLAYOFF GAMES AND THEIR LOCAL LEAGUE WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.
  • NO REPLACEMENT IN ANY O.R.S.A. SERIES.
  • ALL TROPHIES MUST BE RETURNED TO THE O.R.S.A. ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 1ST.
  • ALL UMPIRES OFFICIATING O.R.S.A.GAMES MUST BE DULY REGISTERED ON UMPIRE CARD SWITH SOFTBALL ONTARIO IN 2017.
  • MAKE ALL MONEY ORDERS OR CHEQUES PAYABLE TO THE O.R.S.A. AND NOT AN INDIVIDUAL.
  • ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR BATTING HELMETS WHIEL AT BAT AND RUNNING THE BASES. EAR FLAPS ARE MANDATORY.
  • MIDGET AND UNDER HELMETS WITH CAGE TO BE WORN.

LENGTH OF GAMES …ALL SERIES–JUNIOR MEN,JUNIOR LADIES, AND MINOR ARE 7 INNINGS

MERCY RULE:

  • IN ALL SERIES ABOVE PEE WEE INCLUDING INTERMEDIATE THERE IS A 10 RUN MERCY RULE AFTER 5 INNINGS.
  • IN PEE WEE AND UNDER FASTBALL SERIES ,THERE IS A MERCY OF 15 RUNS AFTER 5 OR MORE INNINGS .
  • IN SQUIRT/LASSIE FASTBALL SERIES ,RUNS SCORED ARE LIMITED TO 7 RUNS PER INNING AND A MERCY RULE OF 15 RUNS AFTER 5 OR MORE INNINGS.(BOYS AND GIRLS DIVISION)

TIME LIMITS:

  • IN PEE WEE AND UNDER FASTBALL SERIES ,THERE IS A TIME LIMIT OF 90 MINUTES EXCEPT THE FINALS WHICH HAS A TIME LIMIT OF 2 HOURS. NO NEW INNING TO START AFTER THE TIME LIMIT UNLESS THE SCORRE IS TIED. ANY INNING STARTED BEFORE THE TIME LIMIT HAS EXPIRED MUST BE COMPLETED PROVIDING CONDITIONS PERMIT.
  • SEE O.R.S.A. CONSTITUTION PGE 16 AND 19. NOTE NEW INNING STARTS AFTER 3RD OUT IS MADE—SEE O.R.S.A. CONTSITUTION PG 16 AND 20 .TIE GAMES TO BE PLAYED OUT. NO INTERNATIONAL TIEBREAKER USED.
  • ***NOTE: IN FINALS,THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT EXCEPT PEE WEE AND UNDER, BUT THE MERCY RULE IS IN EFFECT***

SEE O.R.S.A.CONSTITUTION PG 40 RULE 1X(p) –DEFENSIVE CONFERENCE TO BE IN EFFECT FOR ALL DIVISIONS.

IN SQUIRT AND ATOM USE THE FREE SUBSTITUTION RULE (EVERYONE BATS) AND RUNS SCORED ARE LIMITED TO 7 FOR SQUIRT AND 5 RUNS FOR ATOM.

FREE SUBSTITUTION—ALL PALYERS IN THE LINE-UP BAT AND ARE SUBSTITUTUED FREELY DEFENSIVELY. PLAYERS ARRIVING LATE –SIGN THE CONVENORES SHEET AND THEN ADDED TO THE END OF THE LINEUP,WITHOUT PENALTY.

ATOM AND SQUIRT BOYS AND ATOM AND LASSIE GIRLS MUST HOLD ABSE UNTIL BALL DELIVERED BY THE PITCHER HAS CROSSED THE PLATE .

BATTERE IS OUT ON THE 3RD STRIKE WHETHER CATCHER CATCHES BALL OR NOT. BALL REMAINS ALIVE.

NOTE :ATOM DIVISION  “INFILED FLY NOT INEFFECT”

IN PLAYOFFS ,THE HOME CLUB SHALL CALL THE VISTING CLUB AND THE O.R.S.A. ” COORDINATOR (LISTED ON THE SHEET) WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE STARTING OF A SERIES.

1ST GAME OF THE 1ST ROUND MUST BE :SCHEDULED” 8 DAYS BEFORE THE DEADLINE OR HOME TEAMS LOSES RIGHT TO HOST 1ST GAME. IN PLAYOFFS 1ST GAME TO BE “SCHEDULED” NO LAYER THEAN 4 DAYS AFTER DEADLINE OF PREVIOUS ROUND . HOME TEAM ARRANGES OR TEAM LOSES RIGHT TO HOST 1ST GAME.

THE COORDINATOR HAS THE RIGHT TO SET DATES AND LOCATIONS. EXCEPTIONS-EAST-WEST OF TORONTO SERIES.

NO METAL SPIKES IN MINOR BALL…MIDGET AND UNDER.

ALL O.R.S.A.TEAMS PLAY 9 PLAYER FASTPITCH SOFTBALL CANADA RULES INCLUDING PITCHING RULE.

**DP ALLOWED IN PEE WEE ,BANTAM,MIDGET ,JUNIOR AND INTERMEDIATE.

INTERMEDIATE MENS GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT WILL BE JULY 28,29,30 IN HIGHGATE.

MENS AND LADIES WILL BE A DOUBLE KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT.
